Myopia

Myopia is a condition in which the eyeball is longer than usual or that the power of the eye is stronger than usual, causing the light rays to produce the image in front of the retina and not directly on the retina which is in the back of the eye. That is why people with Myopia have difficulty when looking at a distant object, but usually can see close objects clearly.

Corrective minus lens focus the light on the retina.
